Answers from 1in6, great books, & people like you

This section is under construction. However, many of your questions may be covered in the Answers section of For Men Educating Themselves (main 1in6.org site).

For questions that aren't addressed there, we recommend some great books, and a website where you can have discussions with other partners, family members and friends of men with histories of unwanted or abusive sexual experiences in childhood.

You can find the books in the For Partners, Family, and Friends section of the 1in6 Library. We most highly recommend these two:

• Allies in Healing: When the Person You Love Was Sexually Abused as a Child, by Laura Davis
• Outgrowing the Pain Together: A Book for Spouses and Partners of Adults Abused As Children, by Eliana Gil

Finally, you can (anonymously) read or join discussions on Family and Friends forum on the website of MaleSurvivor, an organization "commited to preventing, healing, and eliminating all forms of sexual victimization of boys and men."
