Hello and welcome to the 1in6 website.

The mission of 1in6 is to help men who have had unwanted or abusive sexual experiences in childhood live healthier, happier lives.

The number of men who have had experiences that can be defined as childhood sexual abuse is conservatively estimated at one in six. Research indicates that most men who have had such experiences don't begin to deal with the negative effects until they are in their late 30s, 40s or 50s* – a fact unacceptable to those of us leading the efforts of 1in6.

In the hope that men negatively affected by such experiences will start their recovery processes sooner, our outreach and programs will primarily focus on men between the ages of 18 and 30. However, our online resources and referral services are available to men of all ages, and no one seeking assistance will be turned away.

Similarly, while our initial geographic focus is Southern California, this website and our referral services are available to men worldwide. Soon our Community Education and Outreach Program, and our therapist-moderated "Support and Information Groups," will be available in the Southern California area.

Members of our founding board and other committed and qualified professionals have created this website to help you educate yourself and, if this is what you're looking for, to advance your healing process.

All 1in6 services are free. Also, please know that your privacy and safety are our highest priorities.
