Instant & Free Info on Web

Here we're referring to websites addressing the experiences and needs of men who have had unwanted or abusive sexual experiences in childhood. These sites tend to assume that you've already defined or labeled yourself as someone who was 'sexually abused' and as a 'survivor'. If that kind of assumption and language could put you off, then keep that in mind as you decide whether, when, and how to visit these sites.

This is not a comprehensive list of sites. We've picked ones that we're comfortable recommending, though we certainly can't promise that you'll be comfortable with everything you'll find on them. As always, pace yourself, take what works and leave the rest.

MaleSurvivor: Overcoming Sexual Victimization of Boys & Men - Their mission is "preventing, healing, and eliminating all forms of sexual victimization of boys and men through treatment, research, education, advocacy, and activism." Their site has many resources, including A Consumers Guide To Therapist Shopping, and the organization offers "Weekends of Recovery" several times a year.

Male Childhood Sexual Abuse Survivors - The site is part of MenWeb and includes a collection of writings by Scott Abraham, including Healing from Childhood Sexual Abuse: Book Reviews, his very helpful review of eight books.
