Where Do I Start?
Along with the courageous men on the right, we welcome you to 1in6.org.
If you had a childhood experience like theirs, or think you might have, you are not alone. Researchers estimate that 1 in 6 men have had unwanted or abusive sexual experiences before age 16.
Whatever your situation, our first and most important piece of advice: Find your own pace.
- You can learn a lot here, starting now. As much as you are ready to learn.
- But you don't have to figure out everything right away. If that's a pressure you feel, we totally understand. We also know that, if you don't pace yourself, going full steam ahead can create problems.
- Remember, you always have options, like leaving and coming back later.
- This site is here for you, and it's not going away.
